More than sixty people gathered at the Ziferblat event space in Manchester’s Northern Quarter to celebrate the publication of the report, How can we govern cities differently? The promise and practices of co-production.
Co-producing the Green Summit
Following his election in May 2017 Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater, announced a number of summits in high profile priority areas including digital technology and environmental strategy. Informed by a coproduced study undertaken by Mistra Urban Futures between 2014-2015, the Director for Environment, Mark Atherton, established a Steering Group in Autumn 2017 to bring diverse voices and stakeholders together to shape and deliver the Green Summit. We played a key role in coproducing the Green Summit, through supporting listening events across the city-region and designing engagement activities at the summit itself. Building on the principles of action research, this project seeks to capture learning from the process of coproducing the Green Summit, which will inform future partnership and projects with the Greater Manchester Low Carbon Hub.
